An Overview of Batna University Audiovisual Center

Batna University Audio-Visual Center was established in the 1980s where it started as a cell that managed the university's foreign language laboratories.

In 1997, the center was able to contribute to the university's pedagogical construction process by exploiting the information and communication technology available at the time in accordance with what was required for higher education training. And this was under the supervision of the Information and Communication Technology and Audio Visual (ICT AV) expert, Dr. Ahmed Ameddah.

The Center Main Tasks were:

1. Media coverage of all scientific, cultural and sports events, conferences and activities held at the university

2. Media coverage of all official events held at the university, namely ministerial, presidential and foreign delegation visits

3. Electronic archiving of all university scientific and pedagogical works

4. Providing logistical support in the field of audiovisual for all events held at the university

5. Ensuring proper functioning of audiovisual equipment in all university facilities

6. Providing the necessary advice and expertise with regards to the acquisition of audiovisual devices by the university faculties and institutes

7. Training of Media and Communication students and other related disciplines in the field of audiovisual such as Radio and Television

8. Accompanying students writing their graduation theses especially the ones require audio-visual aids

9. Contributing in producing scientific and documentary reports for the university faculties and institutes

10. Providing technical support in the field of audiovisual to all contracting parties with the University of Batna 1.

Achievements:

  1. Establishing an electronic audiovisual radio and television.
  2. Creating two websites for publishing and live audiovisual broadcasting.
  3. Establishing an audio radio station within the university campus.
  4. Producing a significant number of scientific and documentary reports.

Accolades:

The Audiovisual Center has gained significant acclaim within and outside the university for its provision of advanced facilities and services that contribute to achieving the university's educational goals with high professionalism. In 2018, the center was awarded the International Arch of Europe Award in Frankfurt, Germany, recognizing it as one of the best university audiovisual centers. It was nominated and selected by BDI, an internationally recognized European organization focusing on quality and innovation in universities worldwide.

The center continues to aspire to expand and keep up with media and communication technologies in order to serve the university and higher education.
